Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch (born 19 July 1976) is an English film, television, and theatre actor. His voice has been rather popularly described by Caitlin Moran, in The Times, as being reminiscent of a "jaguar hiding in a cello".
Cumberbatch's credits date back to 2001, and some of his better-known work includes roles as Stephen Hawking in the BBC drama Hawking (2004); William Pitt in the inspirational historical film Amazing Grace (2006); Paul Marshall in Atonement (2007); and Sherlock Holmes in the modern BBC adaptation series Sherlock (2010). He has also acted in a number of radio plays, including The Pillow Book (2008) and Cabin Pressure (2008-2010), and has narrated audiobooks ranging from Ngaio Marsh, to Giacamo Casanova.
